Gameplay[]
The item is usually added to the creature's glove/gauntlet slot.
The item casts a spell upon the wearer that has a 5-turn duration, just by having it equipped.
The spell is OHWI311.spl, which is a version of the wizard spell Protection From Normal Missiles.
This spell behaves the same as the ordinary wizard spell, except it is instantly cast, and the item wearer doesn't need to use a memorized spell to do so.
The spell can be removed by, a Dispel Magic effect, or a Breach spell as usual.
The player will know when the spell effect is expired or removed, because the "Protection from Normal Missiles" cylinder graphic will be gone.
The item provides no other abilities.
