The Lower Tombs is a crypt area in Athkatla's Graveyard District in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.
"The tombs are eerily silent yet you have the feeling of being watched. Best be careful. Traps and dangers abound within these tombs. Every step could be your last."
The Lower Tombs can be accessed via three entrances in the Graveyard:
- a distinctive pyramid-shaped tomb to the west
- a mausoleum to the east
- the north entrance which is only unlocked by the main quest in Chapter 3
The western entrance leads to a long trapped hallway with urns (some are trapped) containing treasure along the walls. This hallway eventually leads to a circular chamber covered in spider webs.
"This dome appears organic and exudes a dry, musty smell."
The eastern entrance leads to a considerably shorter hallway that also leads to the webbed area.
The circular chamber is inhabited by ettercaps, spiders, giant spiders, sword spiders, and phase spiders. They guard the entrance to a cocoon-shaped structure known as Pai'Na's Lair.
South of the circular chamber is the staircase to the Southern Dungeons.
Bodhi's Hideout[]
A hallway starting from the chamber leads north to a double door that will stay locked until the event trigger in chapter 3 unlocks it. Behind this door is Bodhi's Hideout where Bodhi and her vampire minions' are found. It contains several coffins where defeated vampires return to recuperate from their wounds and therefore, staking the bodies inside the coffins is the only way to kill them for good. Needless to say, the vampires guard this area pretty well and will put up a good fight.
Inside the hideout is another staircase that leads down to Bodhi's Lair.
