Lesser Fire Elemental are a variant of elementals in Baldur's Gate (game). This page covers almost all Lesser Fire Elementals found in the game.

The creature summoned by the Conjure Lesser Fire Elemental Spell is ELFIRSU1, and that elemental only has a 14 strength (bug?).

The creature summoned by the Staff of Fire is SUMELFIR.CRE. Note that a summoned creature's gender is "Summoned", and thus can be destroyed/banished with a Death Spell. Summoned creatures provide no XP if defeated.

Gameplay[]

  • Lesser Fire Elementals are immune to normal weapons and to magical ones with an enchantment below +2. These elementals have a range of 100% up to 125% resistance to elemental and magical fire, and thus some can be healed by fire damage.
  • They can inflict 3d8 crushing and 1d6 fire damage using a +3 or +4 enchanted melee weapon attack (depends on the variant), but only get one attack per round. The attack has speed factor of 0 and a range of 1. Any Strength modifiers apply.
  • Since Lesser Air and Earth Elementals have no elemental resistances, the Lesser Fire Elemental is generally a better summon for a player. It can shrug off fire damage and also deal fire damage in melee combat.

Sword Coast Stratagems makes minor revisions to all elementals in the game. It provides them with immunity to Paralyze, Entangle and Web effects. It does not do this to the Spell Revisions versions, as that mod already did this as well.

Installation of the Spell Revisions Mod re-works and changes most conjured elementals in the game. There are 8-Hit Dice (HD) Lesser Elementals, 12-HD Elementals, and 16-HD Greater Elementals. The 8 Hit Dice Lesser Fire Elemental summoned by the Conjure Lesser Fire Elemental spell has the following Abilities:

HP 80, AC 2, THAC0 10, Saving Throws 10/12/11/11/13
2 Attacks Per Round, 2d4+2 Slashing +2d4 Fire Damage (Fist +2)

Immune to normal weapons
Immune to hold, poison, polymorph, sleep, & stun effects
Fire Resistance 100%
Slashing, Crushing, Piercing, & Missile Resistance 20%
