Lesser Clay Golems are a type of golem in Shadows of Amn and only appears in Irenicus's Dungeon 1st Floor.
Gameplay[]
A pair of these golems can be found within a small room with a closed door.
These golems aren't activated and are dormant, and neutral when first found - if a player character attempts to speak with either of them, a dialogue box opens up, reading:
- The golem stares straight ahead. It does not appear to see or hear you. You suspect that the golem is inactive.
If the golem is attacked, both will turn hostile and try and return the attack, to the death.
The golems can be left alone and not disturbed if desired.
Later on, when a party member triggers an alarm when exploring the "Mistress's Room", these two golems will activate and move by foot to this local area. When they detect a party member they will attack to the death. Obviously, if they were already destroyed before this, the alarm will sound but nothing else happens.
This particular category of Golem is a lesser version of a fully developed/constructed Clay Golem. They are 100% resistant to magic and completely resist Cold damage and Electricity damage. They all have the same appearance.
The golem's melee attack dishes out 2d8 blunt damage, and it is modified by their superior strength. The fist attack counts as a non-magical item for the purpose of what it can strike. They typically only strike once per round.
This golem has no special abilities like its more advanced variety.

Mod content[]
This section is about unofficial content that is only available via fan-made mods.
The Golem Construction for Spellcasters mod places several of these golems in various locations in the saga. It also changes the animation to that of a smaller version of a clay golem. The mod also introduces four levels of Clay Golems in the game, which you may construct as a mage or bard (with the correct book, components and experience level). These are "lesser clay golem", "clay golem", "greater clay golem" and "perfect clay golem". These golems are then able to travel with the party, similar to how a familiar would.
