Lesser Air Elemental are a variant of elementals in Baldur's Gate (game). This page covers almost all Lesser Air Elementals found in the game. For the special variety in Watcher's Keep Elemental Level see the Lesser Air Elemental (Watcher's Keep) page.
The creature summoned by the Conjure Lesser Air Elemental Spell is ELAIRSU1, and that elemental only has a 13 strength (bug?). Others, such as the one conjured by the Staff of Air have 19 strength. As such, that particular elemental will have a diminished melee attack.
The creature summoned by the Staff of Air is SUMELAIR.CRE. Note that a summoned creature's gender is "Summoned", and thus can be destroyed/banished with a Death Spell. Summoned creatures provide no XP if defeated.
Gameplay[]
- Lesser Air Elementals are immune to normal weapons and to magical ones with an enchantment below +2.
- They can inflict 1d20 crushing damage (+7 bonus from 19 strength in the case of the non-bugged ones) using a +3 enchanted melee weapon attack with, but only get one attack per round.
- Some Lesser Air Elementals have a special ability they can use once every 8 rounds called Air Elemental Whirlwind (SPIN973.SPL) that does 2d8 crushing damage (bypasses magic resistance) on a failed save vs spells and slays enemies with 3 or less HD without a save.

Sword Coast Stratagems makes minor revisions to all air elementals in the game. It provides them with immunity to Paralyze, Entangle and Web effects. It does not do this to the Spell Revisions versions, as that mod already did this as well. Basically, a floating air creature will not be webbed or entangled. However, it will also be immune to Hold Monster spells.
Installation of the Spell Revisions Mod re-works and changes most conjured elementals in the game. There are 8-Hit Dice (HD) Lesser Elementals, 12-HD Elementals, and 16-HD Greater Elementals. The 8 Hit Dice Lesser Air Elemental available by the Conjure Lesser Air Elemental version of the spell has the following abilities:
