Legacy of the Masters, also known as the Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise, are magically enchanted gauntlets which increase damage delivered by its wielder and improve hitting chance.
Description
“ | Legacy of the Masters Highly sought after among novice warriors, these items were once the property of the royal family of Threskel. Imparting a portion of the prince's legendary skill, these gauntlets grant the bearer mastery over all forms of weapons. The majority of their many previous owners seem to have come to bloody ends though: The gloves grant the ability of experience, but not the wisdom. |

Gameplay[]
- Xarrnous's Second Sword Arm has the same bonus, but without the damage enhancement
- Hands of Takkok occupies the same slot, but it's effects on THAC0 and damage can be better. The Hands of Takkok have a larger improvement on melee attacks for any strength under 18/76, with an increasing gap the lower the base strength. However, the bonus from the Hands of Takkok does not apply to ranged Thaco at all and does not apply to the damage of darts, bows, or crossbows. In addition, the bonus from the Hands can be subsumed by a potion that gives 19 or more strength, while the bonus from the Legacy of the Masters will add on top. In general, high strength (18+) characters and/or bow/crossbow focused characters benefit more from Legacy of the Masters than the Hands of Takkok.
- These gauntlets provide one of the few available non-strength-based bonuses to damage. This makes them highly useful for thieves, since such damage is multiplied by backstabs .
