This Journal was written by Sir Kalthorine ut Wistan and can be found on the Watcher's Keep Teleport Maze. Sir Kalthorine is another adventurer brought to the keep by the Knights of the Vigil and likely perished there.

His journal shares that the Teleport Maze's dead magic zones are in blue rooms, the wild magic zones are in red rooms and that the Scepter of Radiance can be found and likely reassembled on this level. This journal appears in Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

Description[]

The booklet is an extremely old and tattered journal of an adventurer by the name of Sir Kalthorine ut Wistan. The pages are yellowed with age and have been damaged by taloned feet walking over them... but various pieces are still readable. Sir Kalthorine comments more specifically on the dangers of finding his way past the demons and devils of this level of the keep, noting especially the "dead magic zones" in the blue rooms and the "wild magic zones" in the red rooms and that he had mostly reassembled the needed "Scepter of Radiance."

One comment Sir Kalthorine makes is on the portals themselves: He thought the fact that you could reenter a portal you had just emerged from and not come out in the room it led from to be interesting... and considered the possibility that such a fact might be important in finding one's way through the maze.

Beyond this, the only lengthy part seems to be Sir Kalthorine's utter disgust at the "betrayal" of the Knights of the Vigil for his predicament. Nothing more detailed can be found about this, and it seems especially odd as the journal appears to be perhaps half a century old or more.
