Disambiguation icon Not to be confused with Commoner (Joseph's wife).

Referred to in "classic" Baldur's Gate as Joseph's Greenstone Ring. In the southeast of Nashkel, if the party manages to break into Joseph's Home, they will find his wife. After asking her for information on the mines, she will reply that her husband is working there as a miner, but he hasn't been home for weeks. If she's offered help and asked about his description, she will say that Joseph has blue eyes, brown hair, and (most importantly) a greenstone ring from their wedding on his left hand.

The party will find the body of Joseph just as they enter the third level of Nashkel Mines, and the ring just a short distance from him on the ground. Take the ring and return it to his wife in Nashkel. Speaking with her beforehand is not required.

Journal[]

  • Quest Active:
Joseph's Wife

We told a young woman in Nashkel that we'd try to find her husband, who has disappeared in the city's adjoining mines. His name is Joseph and he wears a greenstone ring.

  • Quest Completed:
Joseph's Wife

While we could not save Joseph, we told his wife that we had found his corpse.

Notes[]

  • If the party misses the ring the first time around, then it will despawn if they rest too long (like all items left on the floor for too long).
