Jegg Hillcarver is a Dwarven blacksmith and merchant in Bridgefort at Boareskyr Bridge in Chapter Nine of Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.
Description[]
| “ | Thurm and Jegg Hillcarver These dwarven smiths maintain a forge at Bridgefort. It’s said Thurm can work any material, no matter how rare or strange. The couple makes their living repairing weapons, horseshoes, and tools. They keep a stock of good quality weapons and armor for sale. If things go poorly at Dragonspear and Flaming Fist needs repair work done, or requires a restock of weapons, the Hillcarvers may be able to lend aid. |

(Thurm has since fallen in battle against the Crusaders)
Involvement[]
Khalid has pointed the party to Wynan Hess and Jegg Hillcarver. Jegg is responsible for the fort's supplies that the Crusade is trying to claim for themselves. When queried on the topic, she offers to destroy the supplies. This would allow the defenders to surrender the fortress and thus escape the siege, without the enemy gaining anything.
If Bridgefort is instead saved from sacking, Jegg follows Gorion's Ward to the Coalition Camp and continues to offer her services.
Creation[]
When given the proper components, her services can be used to create, among other items:
- Jegg's Leathers (requires completing The Creeping Darkness)
- Dragonscale Armor or Dragonscale Shield (requires Dragon Scales)
- Rhino Beetle Plate or Rhino Beetle Shield (requires Rhino Beetle Shell)
- Voidsword +3, Voidhammer +3, 80 Bullets of Darkness +3, or 80 Void-Tipped Arrows +3 (requires Voidstone Shards)
Store[]
Price Reduction[]
Jegg values good manners. It is possible to gain a discount from her if one puts in a little effort into one's introduction. The process is slightly easier for dwarves:
Protagonist: "I am <CHARNAME>. And you are...?"
(if Gorion's Ward is not a dwarf) Jegg: "Busy. Tell me what you want or push off."
(if Gorion's Ward is not a dwarf) Protagonist: "I would know to whom I am speaking."
Jegg: "Name's Hillcarver, Jegg Hillcarver. MISSUS Jegg Hillcarver, or I was till the crusade tried to take the fort."
Protagonist: "Forgive me for intruding on your grief, Mistress Hillcarver. I fight for Bridgefort also—I was wondering if I could see what arms and armor you have on offer?"
Through this, her sell markup goes down from 145% to 130%. Do note that the store displayed below assumes the discount.
There is an exploit once you get the discounted prices from Jegg. If you have a high reputation, you will be able to buy items form her for cheap and immediately re-sell the item for a massive profit. This can be done ad libidum until you have as much money you want.

Trivia[]
Roark is a spy of the Shining Crusade, carrying a Seal of Caelar. There is cut content that would have him attempt to destroy Jegg's forge using Agathor's Near-Universal Solvent, while yelling:
| “ | Caelar Argent, Shining Lady, please bless your humble servant as he does your bidding. | ” |
If he had succeeded, her available merchandise would have been reduced to a few weapons without any enchantment.
