Jayes is a halfling fence who can be found in Waukeen's Promenade, but only at night from 20:30 till 05:30. He stands near a column at the eastern edge of the area. Judging from the scrolls Jayes is offering it seems evident, that he and/or his crew visited a summoner's home.
“ | Hey, bosses! Ye've th' look of peoples wit discrom... discrimer... uh, good tastes. Lookin' fer a bit o' dandies, undies, and exotic stuffs? Eh? Jayes ain't got all day, peoples. | ” |
Gameplay[]
In general, he offers quite the selection for upgrading your party early on in the game and can be stolen from. It is definitely worthwhile to "shop" here with a thief and 3 or 4 Potions of Master Thievery to boost your pick-pocketing close to or over 180-ish. Three potions are obtainable from Arledrian, which means you'd have to start chapter 2 first and exit to the slums. Ribald Barterman also has 2 available, but he can't be stolen from and may pose a cash flow problem. See the Mod Content section below in case you don't want to be able to stack Potions of Master Thievery, as it is probably an exploit (maybe not) and does not align with the D&D 2nd Edition Ruleset.
The Biter dart will be available for purchase in Jayes' store stock with the player having carried on from Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear. See Importing article for details and requite conditions.

Mod Content[]
the Rogue Rebalancing mod changes the Potion of Master Thievery so that they do not stack, and also provide decreasing bonuses based on the imbibers experience level, providing no bonuses at level 13 and above. This is just one element of the Mod, which provides more options and balance for rogue's of all types and kits.
