Jamis Tombelthan is encountered only during Baldur's Gate II Chapter 8 during the Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal campaign when the party travels through The Oasis.
He is currently commanding a personal retinue of 29 other combatants. including Tethyrian Captain officers, Clerics of Lathander, Tethyrian archers, battle mages and pikemen.
Gameplay[]
In the Oasis, the general will automatically initiate dialogue with Gorion's Ward when within detection range - being hidden or invisible won't prevent this.
He'll accuse you of crimes against Tethyr and Saradush, and all of humanity - there is nothing that can be said to sway his conviction, and the Oasis occupants will become hostile and attack the party.
In combat the general behaves as a melee fighting, dual sword wielding opponent - he'll quaff potions when his HP drops below 50%, and if hit, will quaff a Potion of Fire Giant Strength.
If heavily damaged, he'll call for help which might mean that a Cleric will try and heal him, or another soldier will toss him a healing potion for use (this is mainly a ToB script action added to the game).
Fortunately for the party, the general is using The Answerer sword in his offhand, instead of the main hand.
Tombelthan has a berserker kit assigned, but this is in name only, and gains no kit powers at all.
When defeated, he drops the loot listed in the InfoBox, as well as a personal note from his queen, that explains his actions on this day.
Notes[]
Jamis was assigned a Lawful Neutral alignment in the pre Enhanced Edition.

Mods:[]
Installation of the Sword Coast Stratagems Mod makes some changes to his AI scripts, and abilities - His experience level is boosted to 21, Base THAC0 is improved, HP is increased as well, now has 3-points in two-weapon fighting style, and has an additional random potion for scripted use during combat, such as a Potion of Magic Blocking.
The general is a real berserker with this mod, and when hostilities start, he'll activate the Enrage ability, and probably Hardiness as well, plus a potion for buffing purposes, all fired off at the same time in the first round of combat - He's a general and can do these things with SCS.
Installation of the Ascension mod revises the potential dialogue and conversations with Tombelthan quite a bit - (from 3 lines up to 63) with many more party interjections, and a potential to resolve this automatic hostile encounter differently - although dialogue choices and certain player attributes, class, reputation and alignment checks will be a factor in how this goes.
