Disambiguation icon This page is about the quest. For the companions, see Jaheira and Khalid.

Jaheira and Khalid is a quest in Baldur's Gate. The two claim that Gorion's Ward "would do well to help"[1] them.

Jaheira and Khalid would have me accompany them to Nashkel.

— Journal: Jaheira and Khalid[2]

Note: Tarrying too long with reaching Nashkel will make Jaheira and Khalid not leave the party, but let Gorion's Ward feel their discontent.

Walkthrough[]

This quest begins when you invite Jaheira and Khalid to join your party. They want you to go to Nashkel to investigate the iron shortage that has affected the entire region.

They will complain occasionally – Jaheira the first time four days after joining, a second time after another four days; then, Khalid twelve and twenty days after joining.

When you arrive in Nashkel, this quest is simply removed from the quests section of your journal, with no entry for the done quest.

Note: Khalid and Jaheira will disappear from the Inn and the game as a whole if not recruited before clearing the Nashkel Mines in Chapter 2.

Gameplay (community)[]

At this point you could well have exactly four active quests in your journal, each of them urging you to go to Nashkel. Don't let this discourage you too much from embarking upon other side quests as you travel, as you will need to improve your equipment and level up before you can accomplish much there. In fact, it would take some luck and more skill to arrive in Nashkel at all without first completing some of the quests available here and in Beregost. -- Added by Orkamat (talkcontribs)

Khalid and I look into local concerns, and there are rumors of strange things happening at the mines. No doubt you have heard of the iron shortage? You would do well to help us. It affects everyone, including you. We are to meet the mayor of the town, Berrun Ghastkill."
