The Iron Rod is a miscellaneous item in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.
This rod is used to lock the door to the exterior and open the inner chamber inside Dragomir's Tomb. It also is used to unlock the door to exit the Tomb after Dragomir is defeated, and the Party wishes to leave. Hexxat is able to leave the tomb even if the Iron Rod has not been used again to provide an open door and exit. After this quest is finished, the Iron Rod will persist in the player's inventory, but may be discarded. It has no more use in the game. The rod is valued at 8 Gold pieces, but it has been flagged as a "critical item" and is unsellable.
