When a wizard casts Invisible Stalker, he summons a powerful monster that obeys and serves them.

Description[]

Invisible Stalker
This spell summons an invisible stalker from the Elemental Plane of Air. This 8-Hit Dice monster obeys and serves the caster in performing whatever tasks are set before it, even if this means being sent to certain death. The creature remains under the caster's control for 9 hours or until it is killed––at which point it will return to its native plane, only slightly annoyed at having to serve a mortal.
Note:Mechanics: The spell initiates a EFF file, and that file launches SPSTALK with a 2700 duration which in-turn creates the STALKE.CRE creature.

Gameplay[]

The caster selects a target point location on a visible portion of the area map from which the summoned stalker will be summoned/spawned. use the targeting cursor to "click"/select the point.

After the stalker is spawned on the area map, the player may issue commands and control the creature's actions.

A summoned stalker may not transition with the party to different area locations (map to map) - the creature remains on the map it was summoned to.

In the Enhanced Editions, summoned creatures are subject to and calculate into the total on-map summoning creature limit.

If the stalker is not given any commands by the player, it will act according to its basic default AI script.

When the spell's duration expires, the creature disappears from the map.

Summoned stalkers are immediately destroyed by a Death Spell or if within the area of effect of a Death Fog cloud.

Special:

Begins in a state of invisibility (so it gets a -4 bonus to THAC0 on its first attack, unless the effect was dispelled beforehand), after any invisibility breaking action the creature is cosmetically invisible from an animation stand point, but in terms of combat mechanics it isn't actually invisible at all, and can be attacked without any THAC0 penalty, and single-target spells may be targeted at it.

Note:The mod summoned stalker's improved invisibility effect works just like the spell, as this creature is coded differently than the unmodded creature version - so the stalker will always receive the benefits of actual improved invisibility.
