Invisible Stalker is a creature of solidified air native to the Elemental Plane of Air. It is akin to an Air Elemental or the Aerial servant (creature) and like their kin can be summoned to the Prime Material Plane by a wizard or sorcerer to do their bidding.
As elementals, Invisible Stalkers cannot be killed on the Prime Material Plane, but rather destroyed and banished back to the Elemental Plane of Air.
This article page applies to stalkers found in Baldur's Gate (game), Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, and Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.

Gameplay[]
The Invisible Stalker creature is able to remain invisible at all times, until it breaks the State: Invisibility, typically when making its first attack.
Once its invisibility state is broken, it is treated as a visible creature and can be targeted as normal, although the sprite appearance of the creature is cosmetically just a shadow with a red circle (if an enemy) or green if a party summoned creature.
Invisibility removing and divination attack spells or Dispel magic effects will remove the invisibility state from the creature.
In combat, the stalker receives a bonus to hit when attacking from invisibility. The stalker's attack is classified as a non-magical item for the purposes of what it can hit and inflicts slashing damage plus extra for its strength modifier. Under normal circumstances the stalker only attempts one attack per round.
Notes[]
- Because shadows, as race and class, were only introduced with the original Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, an invisible stalker in the original games is treated as a human mage.
