Gameplay[]
Equipping it gives +50% fire resistance – hence the classic name, Frostbrand. Gaining more than 100% fire resistance, by combination with other items, will cause a character to heal a % of incoming fire damage rather than being hurt by it.

There are two possibilities to obtain this weapon, either by getting Drizzt killed and taking it from his body or stealing it from him.
