Baldur's Gate Wiki

The male Human non-player character can be encountered in the streets of Saradush during Chapter 8.

There are three Human characters standing together and are mostly identical. All have a fighter class and are armed with a bastard sword.

The human face a trio of Dwarves and the two groups appear to be in a heated confrontation that currently involves various verbal remarks and strong opinions directed at each group by the other. If anything, it appears that the humans seem to leaning more to the bullying side than the dwarves.

When any party member is within 15 feet of one of these dwarves or humans, the player's combat log will show occasional text of what they are saying to each other, for instance:

Outsiders ain't welcome in this town... that much is clear!

— Dwarf 1

Those dwarves have no respect! If it weren't for our town taking them in, they'd be dead already!

— Human 1

Gameplay[]

The party can leave these arguing groups alone and press on with other activities if desired - there is no reason to get involved unless the party wishes to.

If a party member speaks with one of the humans, then dialogue takes place, with several choices available.

The party can elect to not get involved, or say that violence isn't the answer, or to cease behaving like children and stop the bickering or even siding with the humans and agree to teach the dwarves a lesson.

One outcome is to help disperse the two groups as they don't want to anger a bhaalspawn.

The second is to leave it unresolved, and let them say their piece, but leave the two groups to their own devices (they don't start fighting).

The third is to pick a side, dwarf or human, and incite violence.

If the groups disperse peaceably, each party member is awarded 1,000 XP, and the two groups walk off the map forever.

If the two groups don't resolve anything, they remain on the map and can be spoken with again to try and change this dynamic or leave them be.

If the party gets involved and agrees to a violent solution, then whichever side the party supported becomes a "GOODBUTBLUE" circled allied creature and makes the other group hostile.

The party can join the fight if desired. If any of the group the party sided with survive, they can be spoken to but have limited dialogue. Those creatures remain on the map.

As is frequently the case in this game, the party can also decide to just attack any of these dwarves or humans whenever they wish, they'll fight back and turn hostile, and there are no repercussions for killing any of them. Roleplay this as desired.
