Helping Irenicus' Captive Dryads is a side quest in Shadows of Amn.
Walkthrough[]
- While on the first floor of Irenicus's Dungeon, you will stumble upon three dryads, Ulene, Elyme, and Cania, being held captive by Irenicus. They will ask you to retrieve their acorns for them. A dwarf named Ilyich has the acorns, but he will not give them up easily.
Getting the Acorns[]
- Ilyich is in the northern part of the dungeon, and he will attack you after a short dialogue.
- Kill him and his band and loot Ilyich's body for the acorns and other gear.
- Return to the dryads and give them their acorns. They will thank you and the party will receive 9,500 XP. However, your task is not over.
Free the Dryads from Captivity[]
- The dryads will give you the acorns to give to the Fairy Queen, in hopes that you will free them. The Fairy Queen is located in the Windspear Hills which will be added to your World Map.
- After escaping the dungeon, the only place that you can travel to, from within Waukeen's Promenade, is the Slums District and you will be immediately spoken too by Gaelan Bayle. At this point you have two options:
- Follow Bayle to his home
or - Strike out on your own path
- Follow Bayle to his home
- If you follow Bayle to his home, towards the end of the conversation, when Gorion's Ward questions how to raise 20000
, if the Ward is a Paladin then Gaelan will direct you to Lord Jierdan in the Copper Coronet. If Gorion's Ward is not a Paladin, talk to him anyway. - Lord Jierdan will give you the Journey to the Windspear Hills side quest. When you're ready, travel there using the City Gates (or head for Watcher's Keep and then jump to the Windspear Hills).
- If this is your first time exploring the Windspear Hills, you will be attacked, tricked, rested, and sent on your way on another side quest. Anyway, when you are free to explore the area, go to the southeast corner of the map and you will find the Fairy Queen standing on a short rock outcrop that extends into the pool of water inside the Faerie Grove.
- Give her the acorns and the dryads in the dungeon will be freed. The party will receive 32500 XP upon handing the acorns over and a further 9750 XP upon the dryads' arrival, for a total of 42250 XP. Combined with the 9500 XP received in the dungeon, this makes for a grand total of 51750 XP for completing the quest.
This concludes the Helping Irenicus' Captive Dryads quest.

Installation of the Quest Pack Mod and the "New Fate for the Dryad's Acorns" component adds a twist to the quest to return Irenicus' dryads' acorns to the Windspear Hills. Players may find some optional content in the new opportunities afforded here including an evil solution to the quest. The quest begins with a new encounter which will take place in the south of the De'Arnise Hold if you have not already returned the acorns.
