No, you are not to see this yet.

Hareishan is a female vampire in Athkatla and a loyal member of Bodhi's Vampire Coven.

Gameplay[]

Chapters 2 or 3[]

Hareishan will appear during Chapter Two (Chapter Three is also possible, but actually difficult to achieve) in any district of the city between midnight and dawn. She is the first member of Bodhi's Vampire Coven that Gorion's Ward and party will encounter this way.

The party will witness her battling three shadow thieves. Although she appears neutral during this fight, it is possible to attack the vampire for 8,500 XP without getting in trouble with anyone but her. If the party chooses to simply watch her, she will make short work of her enemies, which can then be looted thereafter.

After the shadow thieves are slain by the vampire, if the party has not yet decided to support any side in this guild war, she'll hiss a warning:

No, you are not to see this yet. You have not chosen your side. When the time comes, obey. Obey, or you will join the thieves in death. Such is the will of the mistress.

It's also possible to assist the three shadow thieves, force the vampire into gas cloud escape mode, and briefly converse with one of the thieves, who'll likely say:

One more of these treacherous things put to rest, though there is still you. Do you see what is in store for you, Gorion's Ward? No guild will challenge the Shadow Thieves, no matter whom or what they call members!

This is followed by:

Remember this battle. Remember that the Shadow Thieves protect their friends and exact painful penance from their rival guilds, no matter how strong or guarded.

If she is encountered during chapter two and the party doesn't make her turn hostile, she will give a warning before turning into a bat and escaping after the battle (regardless of whether Gorion's Ward has taken on Mae'Var's Guildhall as a stronghold).

If she is encountered during chapter three and Gorion's Ward has sided with the Shadow Thieves, she will attack the party.

Hareishan has an innate ability that allows her to project Vampire Domination at a single target, after the first two rounds of combat. She also will turn into a bat if helpless or a gas form cloud when hit points are at zero to flee the battlefield. She can only be struck by +2 or better enchanted weapons.

Chapter 6[]

In Chapter 6, she will be encountered again in Bodhi's Hideout during The final battle with Bodhi scenario, regardless of whether she was "killed" during the first encounter. Her HP has increased to 115 and several other stats have also changed (see infobox). She has a worse THAC0 and Armor Class, does less crushing damage, but drains 3 experience levels on any hit. She can attempt a Vampire Domination after two rounds of combat are initiated. Additionally, normal weapons can strike her.

Note: Remember, to truly kill a vampire, it must be staked in its coffin.

Mods:[]

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod with the "Improved Vampires" component revises all appearances of Hareishan. See the Vampire article and the "Mod content" section for a discussion of the mod's revisions to vampires (including Hareishan) in the game.

The first version of this vampire (VVHAREIS.CRE) is a level 11/11 Fighter/Thief with 124 HP, STR 19, DEX 19, CON 18. She has 2.5 Attacks per round, THAC0 6 and -3 Armor Class. A default SCS script is assigned allowing Vampire Domination ability every 2 rounds, and attacks with either a level drain or "Blood Drain" temporarily reducing CON by 3. She can only be struck by +3 or better weapons. She can shape change into bat or wolf form, and summon bats, rats or wolves with the "children of the night" ability.

The second version of this vampire (C6HAREI.CRE) is a level 12/12 Fighter/Thief with 160 HP, STR20, DEX 20, CON 19. She has 2.5 attacks per round, THAC0 4 and -3 Armor Class. Her melee strike drains 3 experience levels or 3 CON. She also has a different default script, making her akin to an ancient vampire, that has all the abilities of the former version plus the innate Vampire Fear ability and the "Mesmerize" feeblemindedness attack. She will recognize opponents protected from level drain and charm and many other "buffs" for intelligent targeting.
