The Hand of Murder innate spell is applied by Balthazar to himself when the player has installed the latest edition of the Ascension mod with the "Tougher Five" component.
Its scripted use is modified by the Sword Coast Stratagems mod if that is installed alongside the Ascension mod.

Gameplay[]
Balthazar applies this spell when scripted to do so, which is subject to at least a three round pause in between uses - conditions of targeting and use are further modified by the Sword Coast Stratagems AI, where that mod's scripting looks at the opponent's protections/immunities and may elect to not bother with this spell if the target is invulnerable, and perhaps go with a different attack method or target.
The spell is instantly applied, and the game log will show a text reading "Hand of Murder" and visible 3D graphic effect renders over the user.
The Hand of Murder spell is a kind of a hybrid Critical Strike and Quivering Palm combination.
The spell bestows the following:
- All hits from the user's fists/feet/weapons are treated as a Critical hit for six seconds.
- For the first half of the round (3 seconds) - all hits will apply the quivering palm instant death (which is the Slay effect), and a Saving throw vs. Spells is needed to avoid being killed.
This ability cannot be dispelled, and has no secondary type, so it cannot be breached or removed by a Magic attack type spell remover- nothing can block the instant death effect exposure either.
Like any other Slay effect, boost saving throws or protect oneself versus that effect to ensure protection.
