Grae is a troll shaman to whom Roger sold Dennis's Mother's Gong. Grae can be encountered after receiving information from Roger. Find the shaman in the Druid Grove area near the Troll Mound.

Gameplay[]
When the party is close enough, Grae initiates dialogue. Regardless of initial conversation options, she becomes hostile. In the early battle stages the troll can't be killed (to prevent a plot foul up in the script).
Grae has four spells she can and is scripted to cast, as long as she isn't disrupted and isn't disabled before the casting is complete.
When sufficient damage is done to her, the troll pleads for mercy and provides information that an Ogre Mage named Drush is in possession of the gong. Drush is known to inhabit the Ogre's Tower further on in the grove area.
The party can let the shaman flee or attempt to slay her. The special amulet she wears will be destroyed with a dialogue selection choice, rendering the creature killable.
Notes[]
- Unlike other trolls, this one does not regenerate (i.e., it does not equip the TrollReg ring). Likewise, other trolls usually have two creature files; one that's active, the other that's unconscious. Grae only has one creature file.
- Also in the classic and EE games, Grae is equipped with the minhp1 amulet which confers many more immunity effects than trolls normally have (see "Special" in the InfoBox, right).
