Baldur's Gate Wiki

Gofus is an NPC introduced during the Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn saga and the enhanced edition.

Gofus only appears during Baldur's Gate II Chapter 6 with two other Shadow Thieves, including Arkanis Gath, and Yeanasha.

The thieves appearance only occurs if Gorion's Ward asked for assistance against the vampire coven when seeing Aran Linvail in the Aran Linvail's Hideout.

If Aran agreed, then all the thieves will appear in the central chamber (with the large table) in the Lower Tombs.

Gofus is not controllable by the player, but the creature's script will follow the PC and engage in melee combat with red circled enemies when they are detected.

The thief's actions are centered around combat outcomes with Tanova and Hareishan vampires while the party is present in the same area. When those two are defeated, Arkanis Gath will dismiss Gofus and Yeanasha and they'll depart the area.

The thief functions as dual wielding short sword melee combatants only. No backstabbing attempts or special thief skills are scripted.

Installation of the Sword Coast Stratagems Mod makes some changes to Gofus. The thief is now properly configured as a level 16 Swashbuckler kit, with all the commensurate passive kit bonuses revised into his abilities. Since some SCS vampires require +3 weapons to hit them, Gofus now dual wields Long Sword +3. The enchanted leather armor is removed and replaced by studded leather.

A Ring of the Princes is now provided.

Several potions are now supplied for scripted use by the swashbuckler to boost abilities at the start of combat and heal itself when damage is accrued to a set value. A scroll is also available to use in the quick slot.

With the Rogue Rebalancing mod Gofus is furnished with an undroppable Hide in Shadows amulet to improve that skill.
