Baldur's Gate Wiki

Gloves of Missile Snaring are available in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

Description[]

Foik Morur demonstrated the effectiveness of these gloves at a community fair near Beregost several years back. He paid a local archer to fire arrows at him. As the arrows approached, Foik's hands would move of their own accord, either knocking the arrow away or catching it. He earned more than a few pieces of gold for his troubles, and these earnings attracted some shadowy figures to Foik's tent that evening. The next morning, Foik was found dead and the gloves missing.

Gameplay[]

These armored gloves are magically enhanced and provide the wearer with a 2-point Armor Class bonus versus Missile damage attacks.

They are worn by the thief Itona and she only appears in a specific location in Trademeet in the Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn once the party has registered the Dealing with the Trademeet genies side quest.

Acquisitions[]

BG2 Classic[]

BG2EE[]

  • Pickpocket or they are dropped by if the thief is slain - note the standard difficulty to pickpocket a glove item is needed, plus a bit more a penalty because the wearer is a thief and has a 17 dexterity - still not that difficult by a competent rogue.

Mod content[]

This section is about unofficial content that is only available via fan-made mods.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod equips a Shadow Thief assassin with these gloves at the very last encounter in Irenicus's Dungeon 2nd Floor, and they can be recovered if the Tactical challenges for BG2 with the "Make the starting dungeon slightly harder" components are selected and installed.
