Glass Dust is an innate ability effect available to most Dust Mephit creatures in the game saga.

Effects[]

The spell effect is uninterruptable and takes almost no time to deploy. A projectile is launched at a single target in range, but it has a large fireball-like area of effect that can also apply the detrimental glass dust to any enemy in that radius (allies are not affected). A Saving throw vs. Breath will negate.

Glass Dust

This ability sprays a collection of shattered glass, forcing the target to make a Saving Throw vs. Breath Weapon or suffer a -4 penalty to Armor Class and a -2 penalty to THAC0 as the glass shards bury themselves into <PRO_HISHER> flesh.

If the targets fail their saving throws the affected creatures will have a Glass Dust icon displayed on their portraits, and suffer the penalties stated above for a duration of 5 rounds. The effects can be removed with a Dispel Magic. As the glass dust has the equivalent of 1 spell power, several low-level spell protections such as Minor Globe of Invulnerability or similar will stop it, as well as Magic resistance.

One thing players might also want to keep in mind is that this ability's effects stack with multiple castings; so, for example, the Dust Mephit Familiar is capable of inflicting a total AC penalty of 8 and THAC0 penalty of 4, as it may cast this ability twice per rest.
