Gift of the Demon is a gift from Xhost, the last outer plane creature you can pull during Zaviak's Vision Quest, for exchange of his life in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear. This is a cursed long sword with a strong +5 enchantment. After five swings though, hit or miss, it breaks and becomes a cursed +1 long sword. You've been tricked by the demon, remember the lesson well.
Description[]
“ | This onyx blade pulses with a sickly green light. The hilt is carved of bone and the pommel resembles the grinning skull of a gelugon. Demons rarely give gifts to mortals, and those they do always possess some sort of drawback. | ” |
Gameplay[]
- This sword can be sold for 1 and bought back at the same price to restore its charges to the maximum of 5
- Missed swings do eat up a charge
- Once the Gift of the Demon breaks and becomes a +1 sword, it can no longer be recharged
- Upon breaking, the +1 sword replaces the +5 version in the weapon slot, but it does not automatically become the selected weapon
