The Ghost Knight is the soul of an ancient knight that was defending Firewine, cursed to remain in its undead state until it is able to rejoin with the Undead Knight. A total of six are found inside the Firewine Ruins and their story is told in Poe's epic ballad The Knights of Days Hence which he will gladly recite to you. Poe is found near the middle of the Firewine Bridge in the Firewine Bridge area.
Synopsis[]
The knights came to the Ruins to fight "a hellish wrath from deep below whence fires came." The knights finally won the battle but were killed in their sleep by a fellow knight who "made foe with gold in mind to take and plunder riches won." So now they "wait in time for one that ran to face the crime...til honor's need someone dost fill." It seems that the Ancient Armor from the Undead Knight will free the "heroes lost below that haunt in sleep with ghostly glow."
Upon speaking to any one of the six Ghost Knights:
If you do not have the armor they need they say:
“ | Together enter... Together fall... Such was the vow agreed... None shall leave until all are one... Such the vow remains... We must be as one... | ” |
If you have the armor they say:
“ | So it was... So it is... Together enter... Together fall... Brother traitor completes the one... Together free... | ” |
...and fade into peaceful oblivion.
Gameplay[]
The six knights are totally immune to all types of damage except poison, and have all saving throws at 1. The easiest solution to kill one of them is to cast Magic Resistance on it (available only to a single-class Druid level 9 within BGEE experience cap) to actually lower its magic resistance, then have a Mage cast a few Cloudkills in the room (tested successfully). All the items are marked as droppable and can be looted on the ground when the knights are killed.
Items[]

Notes[]
- Baldur's Gate (1998)
This icon indicates content from the original Baldur's Gate campaign. In the original Baldur's Gate, the ghost knights are fighters of the human race. The Enhanced Edition changes both to being a specter, a race and class only introduced with the original Shadows of Amn. It also makes two of them female. - The magical longbow Dead Shot can be pickpocketed from one of the ghost knights (the fourth from the left).
- The Enhanced Edition changes the Ghost Knight fourth from the left to have a substantial drop table. Hovering a Ghost Knight reveals their equipped items.
