The city of Baldur's Gate is full of generic homes which do not serve much purpose in the overall story. This list contains information on any home not already named in-game or without a central defining occupant who owns the house (e.g. Fenten's Home, Gantolandan's Home, etc.).

One convenient method of differentiating between these homes is referring to them by their internal area codes as defined by the game's developers. However, the game developers didn't always follow any type of definitive pattern specific to these generic homes when assigning area codes to the homes. The infobox to the right has an area image of East Baldur's Gate that identifies every generic home by its corresponding number in the infobox name.

Unless otherwise specified, assume that NPCs carry nothing, containers are unlocked, and that NPCs will call the Flaming Fist if they witness the party looting their containers. Locks all have a specific difficulty class for a thief to be able to open them, referred to here as the lock's^(DC).

This is the corner house that faces Maltz's Weapon Shop and is across the street from Sorcerous Sundries. The front door is locked⁽³⁰⁾.

The ground floor is populated day and night by a young boy and girl. There are no containers on this floor.

The second floor is populated day and night by a sleeping man. All four of the beds have lootable nightstands next to them. The nightstand next to the first bed in the smaller bedroom contains a Bluestone Necklace and the nightstand in the corner has 10 . In the bigger bedroom, a Dagger is found on the nightstand next to the bed with the sleeping man and the other one is empty. The chest of drawers contains 14 and the bookshelf contains a copy of the History of the Bell in the Depths.

This house is situated between Lucky Aello's Discount Store and an abandoned house. The front door is locked⁽³⁰⁾.

The ground floor is populated by a young girl. There are three containers in the living room. The armoire contains a suit of Splint Mail, a Medium Shield, and 11 . Regarding the two chest of drawers on either side of the fireplace, the left side one contains 5 while the right side one contains 25  and a dagger.

The second floor contains one chest of drawers with ten Darts and 15 .
