This General Store occupies a red-roofed, single-floor building that's located just around the corner from the Seven Suns compound and across the street from the Ye Olde Inn in Southwest Baldur's Gate. The Potion Shop is located behind it. The front door faces towards the side of a generic house that's across the street.
In the original Baldur's Gate, this store and three other general stores in the city of Baldur's Gate have a shared cooperative, and they all sell the same ranged and melee weapons and armor from the same stock (see bugs). The store now stocks only ranged weapons (with a bigger selection) in the Enhanced Edition.
Layout[]
Generic store furniture – such as shelves and tables – divide the single room, break line of sight and create small sections. The storekeep can be found standing behind the tables, while the customers are roaming the isles between 5:30 am and 9:30 pm, unimpressed by those who possess sticky fingers.
Rogues can try to steal from the shop, with a skill of thirty-five usually being sufficient; if that fails, a Flaming Fist Enforcer and two comrades are summoned to arrest the thieves.[2]
Loot[]
- 44
– shelf in southwestern corner - Short Sword – shelf next to the door
Services[]
This store offers a standard range of throwing and other ranged weapons. Of note are the twenty-five arrows of piercing that are found among some regular ammunition, of which there is an unlimited stock. If it's about selling items here, a wider range of them is accepted, including melee weapons, armor, and some other stuff; see below for a detailed list of what can be divested at a depreciation rate of only three percent.
The identification of magical items is not offered.

Notes[]
Baldur's Gate (1998)
This icon indicates content from the original Baldur's Gate campaign. The store file specific to this area,(STO1116), does exist in the original Baldur's Gate code, but isn't used by any merchant; instead, a four-way "General Store" is created that shares its stock with three other stores (see Bugs). The Enhanced Edition now assigns the(STO1116)store file to the merchant for this store and stops the sharing of stock among the four stores.- In Enhanced Edition, the product range is identical to that of Well-Adjusted Al's General Store in Southeast Baldur's Gate, but stock isn't shared.
Bugs[]
Baldur's Gate (1998)
This icon indicates content from the original Baldur's Gate campaign. Because the store file(STO1112)was referenced in the dialogue of the merchants from all four stores, this store shares its stock with Maltz's Weapon Shop, a northeastern store, and another southwestern store in the city of Baldur's Gate. Anything bought, sold, or stolen in any of these four stores will affect the content of the other three.
