Gem bags can be used to store multiple gems, necklaces, and rings, saving space in the character's inventory.
In the original release of Baldur's Gate and Shadows of Amn, and in Siege of Dragonspear, the bag can hold up to 20 items.
In the Enhanced Editions, the bag can hold 100 items.

Description[]
“ | This small bag is ideally suited for holding gems. | ” |
Notes[]
- If trying to add a stack of e.g. ten items to a container that has only place for three more, none will be put in and a message appears that the container is full. Adding single items instead helps in this case, and the container's limit can be reached exactly.
- It also carries wardstones.
Trivia[]
- The visual design of the gem bag is directly inspired by the Crown Royal bag, a small, purple, felt-like pouch with gold accents and tassels that the blended Canadian whiskey Crown Royal is packaged in.
