He appears in the Abandoned Amphitheater forest pathway and offers to sell a safe path through the woods for 5,000 
. Gorion's Ward can bargain the price for 2,500 or refuse him.
If he's refused, he'll activate four hidden traps on the pathway to the north of his starting location. He and his Dire Wolf allies also ambush the party later if he's refused. He drops some arms and armor, various potions, and a Worn Pamphlet when killed.
It is possible to kill Geld before he leaves the starting area - if you are quick and deal enough damage rapidly. Naturally, this stops the ambush sequence and the appearance of all the Dire Wolves. Geld is really only a danger if he succeeds in using a quaffing of invisibility and backstabbing a party member with low hit points.
