Baldur's Gate Wiki

The Gauntlets of Aln Zekk are gauntlets given as a reward for the Room of Bright Moon trial in the quest Rasaad's Journey. These gauntlets provide a +3 damage bonus and have a 15% chance of inflicting an additional 1d10 cold damage with each successful melee attack. Monks have the most opportunity to take advantage of both benefits; other classes are less versatile in hand-to-hand combat, but can still take advantage of the chance for additional cold damage in melee combat.

Description

Gauntlets of Aln Zekk

Aln Zekk, as he began calling himself, rose as a tyrant and master amongst the ranks of monks devoted to Ilmater, the Broken God. His view regarding suffering and how it brought the faithful closer to their god was not shared by the other monks of his order. Eventually, they rose up to cast him down. He fled, leaving his gauntlets behind. Zekk has not been seen or heard from since.

Bugs[]

Despite the inventory screen showing a damage increase when using this item on shapeshifted characters or characters using Chill and Ghoul Touch, the damage does not, in fact, increase.

Also, when combined with the Wave halberd, the 15% chance to do extra cold damage from both items shares the same roll, meaning you either get both effects in the same attack or none of them.
