Flinds are much more powerful variants of the common Gnoll found in Baldur's Gate. They're distinguishable from their brethren by way of their dark blue-ish skin-tone. They also noteably wield Two-handed Swords, as opposed to the common Halberd, which they are particularly skilled with.
They cast weapon entanglement with each successful hit, which gives +4 penalty to THAC0, unless a successful save vs wands is performed that stacks. It's easy to miss due to lack of feedback on a successful throw in Dialogue Window.[1]
Polymorph Self Version[]
Flind is one of the creatures mages can polymorph into. This version comes equipped with a magic halberd that hits as +3 and adds +1 fire damage instead of the common Greatsword and a Haste spell effect for the duration of the spell.
Bugs[]
- The flindbar weapon of flinds is supposed to penalize the target's THAC0 on hit but was instead improving it. This is identified and corrected in The Enhanced Edition Fixpack (EEFP).
