Firecam Full-Plate Armor is an armor that Keldorn Firecam is equipped with initially. If taken as a companion the player can change this as desired.
It's a full plate armor +1 specially made for him. As of the BG2EE editions, this armor is now internally configured using Opcode 319 "Item Usability" so that only Keldorn may use it.
Description[]
| “ | Full plate armor is the best armor a warrior can buy, both in appearance and protection. This armor increases the wearer's Armor Class by one above that of normal full plate. While equipped, the suit provides the wearer with a +1 bonus to all Saving Throws and grants the wearer Free Action (the ability to pass through webs and other effects). This suit was designed for Keldorn, and only he may wear it. | ” |
Gameplay[]
When equipped, this armor provides a one-point bonus to all Saving throw categories.
The Free Action (status effect) provided by this armor is quite comprehensive. Keldorn will be mostly immune to anything that can slow him down, speed him up, hold, paralyze, stun, entangle, web and similar effects.
One downside of this is that it can prevent Keldorn from increased movement speed, as well as from the benefits of the Haste effect in the EE game version — because Free Action is implemented to provide protection from changing a creature's normal mobility, including not only decreased, but increased movement speed, too.
In the EE game, the Use Any Item skill cannot overcome the Keldorn-only use restriction. It's only for him to wear.
