Baldur's Gate Wiki

Fighter is a male human in Saradush during Chapter Eight - this creature can be encountered if pursing the Betrayal at the Gates quest in Kiser's Home - Cellar area, and less likely but possibly upstairs in Kiser's Home if Kiser Jhaeri is attacked there.

Gameplay[]

A pair of these fighters are neutral and guarding the Kiser Home's cellar area and can be spoken with by initiating dialogue.

This fighter creature seems to have been a direct copy/paste of Kiser Jhaeri with a few changes, such as sprite appearance and class, instead of a thief, it is now a fighter class, but it is "gimped" with a thieves' base THAC0, losing 10 points of THAC0 accuracy that a fighter would have at level 20.

Regardless, the fighter will engage in melee attacks when made hostile, attacking the nearest enemy it can detect. It's assigned Assassin kit won't affect anything including a potential backstab multiplier increase - the way this creature is configured is improperly done to leverage the assassin kit features.

When the fighter is wounded to a 50% threshold, it tries to quaff a Potion of Extra Healing, however, the multiple potions of invisibility aren't ever imbibed, as the creature's fighter script doesn't include that particular item for battle use.

The Sword Coast Stratagems mod makes a few revisions to these creatures, a new default assassin/fighter AI script is furnished for smarter tactical behavior in battle, including uses of Poison Weapon, and Power Attack (SARKIS02), or Whirlwind Attack (SARJIS03) High-level class ability.

They now have a level 20 fighter's base THAC0 of 1, base APR of 2, Strength 18/50, Dexterity 16 and dual wield dagger and short sword with 1 pip weapon proficiency, plus 3-points in two-weapon fighting style.

They wear Chain Mail +1, and are furnished a few random potions for buffing purposes, and they'll be used. Additionally, these fighters are configured as true assassin kit creatures with all the extra melee/missile damage bonuses and backstabbing modifiers. Expect multiple uses of the provided invisibility potions, and envenomed stabbing strikes.
