The Empathic Manifestation can be found in the Temple of the Forgotten God in the Lower Reaches.

Hate is here! Here is hate! Attack with anger and feed the hate! The hate!

Appearance[]

It has the appearance of a Tanar'ri demon from The Abyss, however its general form is humanoid having no race, class or gender.

Gameplay[]

The manifestation has no armor or weapons, or any other item in inventory except for a ring. Therefore, its attack with natural weapons only deals 1d2 crushing damage, but with +6 damage from Exceptional Strength, twice per round at a -3 THAC0 bonus.

It wears the MinHP1 ring that prevents its death by any means in the enhanced game Shadows of Amn LOGOSOA00001 Icon BG2EEBaldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition – Shadows of Amn (2013)

there may be a way around the ring (same as with other creatures that wear it).

In both versions of the game, the intention is that the manifestation can only be slain by curative magic such as Cure Light Wounds, Lay on Hands, or other spells.

However, this usually requires a character to touch the creature, opening them up to its melee attacks.

Distracting it may prove difficult. One way to deal with the interruptions is to use Gorion's Ward's fast casting Cure Light Wounds (ability), if they have it.

Another tactic is to cast multiple healing spells from more than one party members at the same time, if the party has the resources to do so.

Further within the temple is a non-obvious container that holds a healing spell scroll which can be used for this purpose as well (and a spell cast from a scroll cannot be interrupted).

Once healing is applied, the MinHP1 ring is destroyed, and so shall be the manifestation.[1] Then the Avatar of Amaunator will appear and address the party.
