A Noble Efreeti is more a powerful Genie than their lower-class Efreet kin.
Gameplay[]
In general, a Noble Efreeti is slightly tougher than a its standard efreeti. They have more hit dice (13 vs. 5), hit points (104 vs 80) and do more damage [3d8 (crushing) vs. 1d8 (slashing)] with a better THAC0 and APR of 2 (not 1). Armor Class is also better, and nobles are further protected by 15% magic resistance. Intelligence is also higher (16 vs. 14).
The noble efreeti is a hostile creature who may attack with fire-based spells and its own melee attack. It can also turn invisible, perhaps multiple times during a battle.
It will cast several spells as shown on the InfoBox, and there are timed delays between these spells - during the delay the creature may attack with its melee weapon. It will cast Invisibility on self as well, also on a timed interval. The creature uses a ReallyForceSpell casting execution for a Gaseous Form change, and fireballs - so these can't be interrupted or prevented.
A ForceSpell casting execution is used for other spells, and they too are difficult to interrupt. The creature won't run out of spells based on spell memory, and that isn't a factor.
When creature's HP falls below 20, it will execute a Gaseous Form spell which changes the creature to a Blob Mist Creature is mostly impervious to harm and lasts 20 seconds. When the spell duration ends, a brand new undamaged efreeti noble reappears - any debilitating or other effects that may have been present on the efreeti before changing form are no longer applicable - it's a new creature in that regard. Sometimes, based on damage inflicted, the efreeti can be killed in one blow/event before its form change script can initiate, and if that happens the creature is truly dead.
The creature has no ability to recognize if a party member is protected from fire or melee attacks.
This creature's melee attack weapon is non magical and unenchanted. It can inflict 3d8 crushing damage, and additional strength modifier damage applies. The weapon animation is a scimitar, but the damage inflicted isn't slashing and instead is the crushing type.
However, unlike lesser efreeti, nobles can neither call down a Flame Strike, nor protect themselves with Fireshield (Red).[3]
Locations[]
- Planar Prison (×2) - in a "Fleshy Trap" [4] along with two Efreet
- The Planar Sphere - Fire Room
Notes[]
- Another creature file for "Efreeti" (Noble)[2] is exactly the same this one [1] with the only difference being its Class is Noble Djnni (196) instead of Noble Efreeti (197).[5] Both creature files are represented here in the same InfoBox (right).
- Nobles share the same appearance and animation as their lesser legged cousins.[6]

Sword Coast Stratagems revises the Efreeti (Noble). it does this by implementing the "Smarter Genie" component. From the Mod's Readme:
Smarter Genies (BG2, BG2EE, BGT, EET)
This component improves the various genies (djinni, efreet, and the like) in BG2. Mostly this is done by improving their scripts and systematizing the rather chaotic list of spells and abilities that different genies get (in the original game, if you charmed a genie you'd see that it had a totally different list of spells from the ones it was actually using!) However, the component also changes summoned genies so that they count as "Gated" rather than "Summoned"; the practical consequence of this is that they are immune to Death Spell. This makes genie-summoning rather more useful.
This component is sensitive to the difficulty setting:
BASIC: Genies will attack fairly unintelligently, and mostly do not use their invisibility or protective powers.
IMPROVED: Genies attack intelligently and use all of their magical powers.
TACTICAL: Genies can use their magical powers instantly and without risk of spell failure.
HARDCORE and above: Genies receive a modest (+50%) boost to their hit points.
The Efreeti has some revised powers and abilities. They are 14 Hit Dice Creatures with level 14/14 Mage/Cleric spell casting levels with up to 156 HP. By script they cast wizard and priest spells (sometimes instantly depending on game difficulty selection). The creature will turn into mist form (and it is impervious to damage while in that form) and rapidly regenerate hit points when damaged over 50%. Careful timing and delivered damage can overcome the mist regeneration phase - if it isn't done correctly, the creature can take a long time to kill, as it is constantly going into mist form, regenerating, and then reforming etc. The spells available to the Efreeti are slightly different than the base game. The SCS AI is very smart and detailed, and all memorized spells can be cast. The creature responds to the party's protections in an intelligent manner. The Efreeti Noble is healed by fire damage, and thus will often remain within its cast Fire Storm area of effect.
Magic Missile (×5)
Invisibility (×3)
Fireball (×3)
Flame Arrow (×3)
Shadow Door (×2)
Flame Strike (×2)
Fire Storm
Additionally, SCS Efreeti can apply, at will and as many times as they wish an innate Fireshield (Red). If dispelled or breached, it will just be renewed seconds later.
Up to three times per battle the Efreeti can turn into gaseous form (which is immune to damage) and regenerate rapidly, then reform partially or fully healed.
With the installation of the Spell Revisions mod, all of Efreeti Noble's memorized spells will be the SR version.
