There are four Dwarven Doom Guards guarding the tomb of Durlag's son Kiel the Legion Killer. They will not attack until one of them is provoked or when Kiel's buckler or his morning star are removed from the chest at the foot of his final resting place.
Physical Description[]
Like the name suggests, these creatures are Doom Guards created from dwarven-sized armor, hence their smaller stature.
Notes[]
- As the race golem was only introduced in the original Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, in Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast dwarven doom guards are – oddly enough – handled as being of the human race. This is changed in the Enhanced Edition.
- The same applies to their class, which is changed from mage to iron golem.
Gameplay[]
The guards have a good THAC0, attack 4 times per round and have 18/00 strength, so they can deal a formidable amount of damage in one single round. They are also immune to many Status effects like fear or stun. However, their saving throws are modest enough so that are likely to be disabled by simple spells like Blindness or Web.
