Baldur's Gate Wiki

Drow Piwafwi Cloak is an item that can be had in chapter 5 of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and also Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

Another cloak is worn by Ameralis Zauviir in an encounter within Watcher's Keep Final Seal, but the item is flagged as both unstealable and undroppable, so the player cannot obtain it.

Description[]

The cloak can be made in every possible shape with just about every type of fabric. The most common forms are a circular piece of fabric with a hole in the center for the head, and fabric draped from neck, connected by a chain, brooch, cord, or pins. Talented drow weavers have woven strands of adamantine into the cloak, thus rendering it useless if exposed to the light -- the effect of which will turn the cloak to dust.

Gameplay[]

While pursuing Inside the Drow City questline obtained in Ust Natha the party will probably need to obtain a Drow Piwafwi Cloak for Phaere.

It's possible for the player to acquire three copies of Solaufein's Piwafi Cloak: two when doing the aforementioned quest and one afterwards. You can acquire the first one via pickpocketing (80+ skill points required) Solaufein during the quest, a second one via his dialogue (in which he handles you the cloak) and a third one, also via pickpocketing, when he shows up to play his part in the Dragon Eggs quest.

The Piwafwi Cloak is infused with the adamantine element used by the drow. The cloak will turn into a Adamantine Dust when exposed to the surface world's light.

However, when worn underground or in the Underdark, this cloak offers the wearer a -6 bonus vs. Breath attack saving throws and +75% bonus for Hide in Shadows and Move Silently skills.
