Draw Upon Holy Might is a 2nd level priest spell only usable by clerics and paladins. It increases the Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution of the caster.
Gorion's Ward may gain an innate ability of the same name during the Baldur's Gate campaign.
Description[]
“ | The priest calls upon their god to grant them power for a short period. When they do this, their Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity are all raised by 1 point for every 3 levels of the caster. 3rd-level casters would have their abilities raised by 1, while 12th-level casters would have their abilities raised by 4. | ” |
Gameplay[]
- Draw Upon Holy Might will not stack with itself.
- The HP of the caster may increase due to the CON bonus applied by this spell. When it expires, the increase will be deducted from their maximum and current HP. This may cause the caster to be killed if they have sustained too much damage.
- Keep in mind that stat bonuses are not linear; for example, adding +3 STR to a caster with 15 base STR results in a modest -1 THAC0 and +2 damage bonus; adding +4 STR results in a massive -3 THAC0 and +7 damage bonus. This makes the spell's usefulness highly dependent on the stats and level of the caster.
- While the normal duration is 1 turn, if the party rests while it is active, the spell will extend through the entire rest. This can be used to gain HP regeneration from high CON, fully healing the caster. This will also apply to longer travel times on the World Map.
- Maximum bonus is +6 at level 18, and it can not raise scores above 25.
