- Not to be confused with Dragon's Breath (spell).
Dragon's Breath is an enchanted and magical halberd +4. The blade deals piercing or slashing damage (despite the erroneous weapon description), to which is added 1 point from each of the five types of Elemental damage.
This item appears in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.
Description[]
“ | Halberd +4 Dragon's Breath
Trying to profit from the strength of greater beings, many years ago the mage Ullion founded a dragon-worshipping cult under the moniker "Son of Drago." Attracting followers with promises of conquest, he sought to secure his authority by enchanting this symbolic weapon for his bodyguard, Jaramor Bold. When the Dragon's Breath strikes an opponent it releases the harsh flames of a red dragon, the poisonous vapor of the green dragon, the blue dragon's lightning bolt, a spray of a black dragon's acid, and the white dragon's penetrating cold. Unfortunately, Ullion was the first to feel its effects, slain by the ambitious Jaramor who sought to rule. There was no real power to be had without the mage, so the entire organization soon collapsed on itself. |

Acquisition[]
It is dropped by Boz in the Underdark when the party leaves Ust Natha after being asked to rescue Phaere.
Gameplay[]
- The Statistics section of the description lists Damage Type as Piercing, but its actually Piercing or Slashing, like most halberds.
- The fire and acid elemental damage on hit can be used to kill trolls.
- The three types of elemental damage (fire, cold and electricity) will also bypass effects such as Stoneskin even if the physical damage is blocked, making the weapon an excellent enemy caster interrupter.
- It deals every type of elemental damage, which makes it a good weapon to determine if an opponent is completely immune to a specific element. Another weapon for this purpose could be the Flail of Ages +5.
- This elemental damage cannot bypass Magic resistance.
