Dili is a human girl with an unnatural affinity for magic whom Gorion's Ward encounters as a resident at Spellhold during the events of Shadows of Amn. Differently from the other inmates, she does not actually appear during the fight against Irenicus, though she supposedly dies in that encounter.

Biography

Dili was born as an arcane prodigy, able to intuitively shape magical energy – presumably of the Transmutation school – to the extent that she could freely change her form into whatever she desired. This scared her parents so much that they willingly gave her up to the Cowled Wizards, who sought to study her powers in hopes of furthering their own understanding of such magic.

Gameplay

Dili can be conversed with the party regardless of if the party arrived in Spellhold via Pirate Lord Desharik or using the Wardstone for Asylum.

Dili has no ability to fight or cast spells. She's only a "special" kid, after all.

As Dili is equipped with the MINHP1.ITM she can't be killed in the cell block. Even so, as an innocent, just attacking her can reduce party reputation. She's only a kid, after all.

Dili is removed from the game after the battle with Irenicus, although she doesn't take part in it.

Dialogue interactions

When the party first arrives at the main floor of Spellhold during the Shadows of Amn chapter 4, they can talk with Dili. If they arrived by obtaining the Wardstone and coming through the front door, the Coordinator will introduce them to Dili and provide her history. If spoken to, Dili will briefly talk about her abilities at first, while later declaring "Ooh, this face is boring. Now I'm...", before polymorphing into one of several random creatures:

• "A doggie! Hee hee."
• "Um... a kitty! Whee!"
• "Ah... I'm a wolf!"
• "Ooooh, now I'm... A bear!"
• "Now... I'm a chicken!"
• "Now... now I'm you. Hello."

In addition, she's also able to take the form of a male human fighter or an ettercap, and she tells, that she even "took [Irenicus's] face once. His punishment was..."

If available during the first conversation with Dili, some companions might throw in their own thoughts:
