This article is a Deneld is a military instructor for the Shining Crusade of Caelar Argent, responsible for training new recruits to the cause.
Location[]
In Chapter Ten – Allied Siege Camp of Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, Deneld can be discovered in the south-central area of the Dragonspear Castle Exterior, next to the gates leading to the troll-pens and the broken eastern wall.
Quests[]
Deneld must be spoken to as part of the Morning Report. If you ask him for the Morning Report, he will give it to you. Note — he does not have it in his inventory and as such, it will not drop if he is killed.
In Foehammer's Blessing, he can be convinced to provide Gorion's Ward with the Second Stone Fragment.
He also initiates the quest Understanding the Crusade to learn more about The Crusade, having the party speak with Sindret, Zare, Tristian, and Ravoc and then answer his questions. Upon completion, he will provide the Ring of the Crusade.
