This article is a Demin's Note is a parchment handwritten by Priestess Demin who's found inside her house within the city of Suldanessellar during Baldur's Gate II Chapter 7.
This note says that the artifacts — Golden Goblet of Life, the Moonblade, and the Talisman of Rillifane — must placed on the altar to awaken Rillifane.

The Exile has taken Queen Ellesime, and his minions will murder us all! We need to wake Rillifane, but the temple has been breached and the artifacts scattered. The dragon holds the Goblet of Life, and none can stand against his hideous strength. I know not where the moonblade and the talisman of Rillifane lie. Even should we find them, there is no one capable of fighting through the temple and placing the artifacts on the altar. Rillifane cannot be awakened in any other way! |

Gameplay[]
The note is kept in Demin's general inventory on her person. The only way to ever know it even exists is to either pickpocket it from her, or to find it amongst her equipment and dropped items if she is killed.
Demin never offers this to the party, nor is it some kind of quest item. The item exists probably since Demin can actually be killed, even accidentally, during the first visit by the party to her house - and thus, the dialogue she has to answer questions and inform the party of all kinds of facts would be impossible. This note gives the basic information needed to ensure that the player has the knowledge to undertake the steps necessary to awaken the Avatar of Rillifane in the Temple.
