Defender of Easthaven is an enchanted and magical flail that, in addition to dealing the typical crushing damage, also protects the wielder from being hit in general as well as offering some physical damage resistances. It can be purchased in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and The Black Pits II: Gladiators of Thay.

This flail was created a century ago to commemorate the defeat of the devil Belhifet. It was meant to always remain within the town of Easthaven to remind the people of the great evil that had been barely defeated.

Acquisition[]

Shadows of Amn[]

Though this flail is available in the Baldur's Gate II Complete and the Enhanced Edition, in the original Shadows of Amn it is exclusive to the Collector's Edition.

Gladiators of Thay[]

  • Sold at tier 2

Gameplay[]

  • Providing a common type of physical damage in the game, this flail can be effectively used as a substitute of a shield in the off-hand. Players may combine this weapon with Hardiness and/or Armor of Faith for great physical protection.

Notes[]

  • Though the name of this flail is "Defender of Easthaven +2" in the original Shadows of Amn, all combat-related statistics are those of a +3-weapon; even the original description starts with "Defender of Easthaven +3". This is fixed in the Enhanced Edition which also fixes a typo in the description, as well as changing Belhifet's race from demon to devil.
