The Dark Treant are a corrupted form of the treant, a sapient plant monster resembling a humanoid tree, which only appear in one single area in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear. They represent the efforts of the mad druid Ferrusk to spread his corruption to other creatures of the wilderness, hoping to empower them and turn them into weapons he can use against civilization.
