Dagger of the Star +4 is an item which appears in Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.
Description[]

Gameplay[]
The dagger is a weapon which deals 1d4 +4 points of Piercing damage and it has -4 THAC0 bonus, a weight of 1 lbs. and a speed factor of 0. Whenever it hits its target, there is a 5% chance that the wielder will turn invisible for 60 seconds.
Invisibility provided by this dagger is not of the Illusionary protections type. Use of the dagger by a character equipping the Whispers of Silence cloak will further protect the wielder from some divination effects. See the cloak article for details.
This dagger can be upgraded by Cespenar, which requires 5 star sapphires and some gold. Carras in Amkethran sells five of these gems if you are in need of them.
Upgraded dagger[]
Dagger of the Star +5 inflicts 1d4 +5 piercing damage after the upgrade and it has -5 THAC0 bonus. The probability to turn invisible is now 15%. Additionally, there is a 5% chance this dagger applies 1d8 points of Fire damage and Electricity damage on each successful attack.

Aquisition[]
This dagger must be recovered from the Demilich (Watcher's Keep) through force or thievery.
