Cythandria is a female mage who replaced Tamoko as Sarevok's lover, though Cythandria only really wanted Sarevok so she could gain power and wealth.

She is seen for the only time in Chapter Seven at the top of the Iron Throne headquarters. She will hail you on sight and question why you are here. No matter what you say, Cythandria will attack and summon two strong ogres called Arghh and Ughh. She carries Sarevok's Diary and two letters of correspondence between Slythe and Sarevok.

When badly wounded she will beg for mercy. You have the option to accept or ignore this. The exact wording of accepting mercy is for her to "Give us all of your possessions and then get out of my sight". This will place the diary and letter into the inventory of one of your characters. If you decline and kill her, these items will be found on her body.

If you offer her mercy, she will attempt to walk into the side room and disappear, while walking, she will remain a hostile target. As she has very low health it is very easy to "accidentally" kill her at this point. If you do so, the diary and letter will not be on her body as she will have already handed them to you.

Dialogue[]

Mmmmm... so you've come back. If you were smart, <GORION'S WARD>, you would have left well enough alone. I don't know how you escaped my lord's trap at Candlekeep, but you won't be getting any farther than here. Why did you come back here? I would have thought that you'd go after Sarevok directly?

Who are you to threaten us?
Such anger and determination! I am Cythandria, consort to Sarevok. I have been with him since before he knew of his true heritage. The heritage YOU share with him. He will be pleased to know I have killed you... perhaps enough that I might become his favored one again.
I doubt you'll ever be his "favored one." Sarevok is evil to the core... Help us defeat him, and we'll let you go free.
A very amusing notion. I would never betray my lord. Perhaps you should try your wiles on Tamoko, I'm sure she'd be more receptive to your overtures. I could never understand what Sarevok saw in her. Enough of that! Come my beasties, let's make short work of these interlopers!

Gameplay[]

  • During battle, Cythandria will run through her progression of spells, but, she won't use the four Fireball spells unless the party has a single class cleric as a member and the cleric is within eyesight of her. So either Gorion's Ward is a cleric or Branwen and/or Viconia are members of the party and one of the three is within eyesight of her. Also, if the cleric comes into eyesight anytime before Cythandria has finished casting her spells or is killed, she'll cast the Fireball spells towards the cleric.
  • A multi-class cleric will not trigger the four Fireball spells.
