Gameplay[]
The item can be obtained by the party, only after solving the six torches procedure and unlocking a specific door in the Watcher's Keep Machine of Lum the Mad dungeon.
The game does not spell out what this item is for, except in one place - and that information is contained in the Diary of Carston's Apprentice.
Without obtaining the diary, the mallet has no background information given by the game.
Aquisition[]
The item is locked away in a strongbox/safe container located with the northwestern corner room of the dungeon level.
The room where the strongbox is located is guarded by Rock, Garock and eventually four Ice Salamander defenders.
