Baldur's Gate Wiki

Countess Santele's House is located in Saradush and is first accessible during Chapter Eight. The building is labelled on the player's "World Map" view of the city with an Automap note marker.

The building will have no inhabitants within when visited, unless the Betrayal at the Gates side quest has been registered in the journal and certain progress has been made in the quest line.

Description[]

The building has a lone entrance available to the party from the Saradush street; and is unlocked, leading to a single story map (used in several locations by the game already - and tweaked or recycled).

The interior of the house is of obvious high-quality finishing and decor, with a plush seating area, private bed chamber, a reflecting pool and fountain, and a well equipped kitchen/larder.

The party isn't allowed to rest here. Walk over to The Tankard Tree for that.

Gameplay[]

This house isn't locked and can be entered with no repercussions to the party.

If the party has advanced the Betrayal at the Gates quest, specifically speaking with Mateo in his cell within the Saradush Castle Jail, then the countess will be present in her house when visited.

Otherwise, no one will ever be present inside.

Containers[]

None of the containers inside the house are trapped.

There are two containers within the bed chamber, and one is locked - these continuers have a rich and average Random treasure within.
