Cloakwood Mine level 2 is the second subterranean level of the Cloakwood Mine.

On this floor are rooms for the Guards and cells for the slaves. Rill on this floor needs to be talked to in order to get all slaves out of the mine prior to the flood. Yeslick can be recruited to the party on this floor as well.

Places[]

  • Slave Cells — 600, 400 — Straight ahead as you enter this level. 5 cells, 3 slaves. Their voice tracks ask for your help, but their dialog asks you to leave them alone.
  • Storage Rooms — 1800, 900 — Southeast from the entrance. 4 rooms with empty crates and a guard who will "tell you everything" if you spare his life. Everything isn't very much, and probably nothing you don't already know..
  • Prison — 900, 1700 — The southern-most room, reachable through the dining hall, or through a very long hallway, behind secret doors and guarded by 2 Ghasts, along the entire southeastern side of the level. Important meetings here with the companion Yeslick and slave Rill.
  • Kitchen —1120, 1350
  • Dining Hall — 850, 1200 — 9 guards, 2 Blacktalon Elite.
  • Exit to level 3 — 600, 1500 — 2 guards.

Gameplay (community)[]

  • One way to beat the main hall — with slideshow: (Pic no 1) Have one of the party equipped with the Whispers of Silence go scouting ahead stealthed or invisible (from the side secret door) and then have another party member cast Sleep after taking good aim at the center of the room — a Wand of Sleep could also be used. The caster should try to stay as far back as possible so as not to be seen — in case s/he's seen by some nearby guards, they'll probably fall asleep before reaching him/her though. (Pic no 2) This tactic can work pretty well for incapacitating a large part of your opponents in the game, especially when an Enchanter like Xan casts this spell. Of course, this can be repeated depending on the results of the first casting. Or it can be accompanied by other useful spells like Web, Fireball, Silence, 15' Radius, but simply one Sleep casting can prove to be enough. Last time I couldn't resist and used a Wand of Lightning — it was more deadly but less effective than Sleep overall. — Hazif (talk)
  • It's not needed to attack the inhabitants of the central room in order to proceed with the main quest. If the party goes all the way down the secret corridor until they find the secret door to Yeslick's and Rill's cells, then they have to unlock a door and there are only two guards who stand in the last room between the party and the exit to level 3. They miss on XP and loot from the big battle this way, though. — Hazif (talk)
